Important Animal Acquisitions Notice: Request Holds

Starting February 2007, the online Animal Acquisitions system will only allow requests to be submitted where all protocol related requirements have been met.
Requests will not be approved where requirements placed by a UCSD group such as the IACUC, EH&S or ACP have not been met. For example, a request may be blocked because the IACUC requirement to report the number of animals born in a breeding colony has not been completed in the previous 60 days.
In addition, the new system will include increased data validation in order to protect intramural research projects. Therefore, requests with discrepancies in key information will be blocked.
When a request is prevented, a message will be displayed directing the requestor to the appropriate person for followup and resolution. Please send questions, comments or concerns related to these changes to animalholds@acp.ucsd.edu.
