UCSD's Upcoming AAALAC Site Visit

UCSD welcomes AAALAC (Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International) for our triennial site visit and inspection November 6th-9th, 2007.  

AAALAC International is a private, nonprofit organization that promotes the humane treatment of animals in science through voluntary accreditation and assessment programs. Accredited organizations include universities, hospitals, government agencies, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, and other types of research organizations.

UCSD was originally accredited in 1980 and has maintained accreditation since that time. During the visit all animal care research facilitites including vivariums, laboratories and satellite facilities will be inspected.
