Proper clothing protects both the animals and personnel from potential cross-contamination. Street clothes are not allowed in ACP vivaria unless covered by a clean lab coat. Scrub suits are also acceptable attire. In addition, many animal rooms require safety garments, such as isolation gowns, masks, gloves, and shoe covers. All persons entering an ACP vivaria must display a photo identification badge and wear proper attire. A separate pair of shoes or work boots are recommended for wear inside the animal facility to eliminate the possibility of cross contamination between home and work.
