All personnel entering a UCSD vivaria are required to be included in an approved Animal Use Protocol. Occasionally, however, circumstances may be such that a laboratory acts as host to visiting animal research professionals. In this case, visitor badges are available from the ACP Business Office (ext. 44262), and the vivarium office at the Clinical Teaching Facility. Visitors must be accompanied by a senior member of the laboratory staff, who has in possession a valid ACP photo ID badge. Entry into vivaria is prohibited at all times by children (under 18) and persons without bona fide reason for entry.
