Animals to be imported from vendors or other research institutions that have not been pre-approved by the ACP require the collection of additional information to assure adherence to health and regulatory requirements in place for animals at UCSD. A recharge is associated with this ACP activity to recover telephone, fax and related office expenses. Importing animals from these sources requires significantly more time than obtaining animals from pre-approved vendors. Advanced planning is important to ensure coordination with research schedules. The Request to Import Animals from a Non-Approved Source form can be found by logging on to the Animal Aquisitions menu.
