Advanced scheduling is advised to insure the proper personnel and amounts of reagents are available. (Our charges are based on reagent costs; subject to change.)

We use an IStat wet reagent system to analyze Electrolytes (Na+, K+, Cl- and hematocrit)and mouse creatinine. Both of these tests require a minimum of 100µl of heparinized whole blood / test.

The per test cost of Electrolytes is $16.00 and the per test cost of creatinine is $8.00.

We use a Vettest 8008 analyzer (dry reagent system) for other clinical chemistry evaluations:

• BUN
• Glucose
• Albumin
• Alk. Phos
• ALT (SGPT)
• AST (SGOT)
• Amylase
• Ca2+
• Total Protein
• Total bilirubin

Each of these tests cost per sample, $6.00 each.

Globulin is calculated using the Albumin and Total protein values cost $12.00 per test.

• GGT & Cholesterol cost per test - $13.00
• Triglyceride & magnesium cost per test - $16.00
• CPK cost per test - $11.25
• LDH cost per test - $8.00

The analyzer requires 30µl for priming and an additional 15µl per test.

For eight tests a minimum of 150µl of serum or heparinzied plasma would be required.
