Veterinary technical services are performed by Registered Veterinary Technicians or veterinarians and are available to investigators on a recharge basis. Services available include blood collection and exsanguination, immunizations for antibody production, ascites production, euthanasia, necropsy, radiology, casting, splinting, bandaging, specimen and tissue collection, veterinary nursing care and anesthesia services.
To incorporate technical services into a protocol, investigators can make arrangements with a Technical Services representative in advance of submitting the agreement to the Animal Welfare Program for approval. This agreement is required for each protocol where technical services are to be provided. Technical Services Agreements are available from the veterinary staff, at extension 43628.
